Epistemic subject
This is not the True Self. It is not the ontological or meaty noumenal self. It may not have any real existence. It is conditioned (pre-structured) and dependent on a certain attitude. It may be illusory, in that it may not exist in the domain of actual beings. It may just be the artifact of a process.
Despite these limitations, the epistemic subject has the advantage of having certain definite features.
- It always arises in tandem with an object.
- It has “a structure”—This (S) is P.
- It has a unity—most likely the unity of the copula itself.
