Meditation: Woody Allen Tech
TYPE: Schematism
PURPOSE: This Audio-visual Meditation is most enjoyable. Shatner’s hammy acting makes this partly a liberating satire. (Imitating an attitude in a comically exaggerated way is one way to transcend it.) But we should not let Bill do all the work! This is Schematism Tech again. The fastest way to overcome anxiety is to overact it.
CONTEXT:
(Tommy summons Kirk’s beast to haunt him. Kirk crumples with fear and loss of confidence.)
SPOCK: Captain, we must get off this bridge.
KIRK: Yes, we must. I’m losing command. I’m losing my ability to command. I’m losing the Enterprise.
INT. TURBOLIFT
KIRK: I’m losing command. I’m losing the Enterprise. The ship is sailing on and on. I’m alone. Alone. Alone. I’m losing command.
SPOCK: Captain.
KIRK: I’ve lost command. I’ve lost the Enterprise.
SPOCK: Jim.
KIRK: I’ve got command. I’ve got command. I’ve got command.
SPOCK: Correct, Captain.
CORRIDOR
SPOCK: Where to, Captain?
KIRK: Auxiliary control, my Vulcan friend. This ship is off course.
METHOD: Be one with Kirk at each step of the process.
